Adventuring In Kentucky
Bluegrass Backcountry is proud to bring you the Elements of our trip building planner for 2007. Each of these Elements can be combined for groups going on trips ranging from overnighters and daytrips to week+ long expeditions.
We pride ourselves in knowledge and experience, these are thing we bring to your trip to make it a very memorable one. We hope that you learn something from these trips as part of Our Mission is to educate you so as to make a better patron of the outdoors.
Our Elements are based in different locations So plan each trip with corresponding GeoCodes. We offer the trips in select areas of Kentucky utilizing, but not limited to Red River Gorge, Land Between the Lakes, and Cumberland, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee Rivers.
When planning your trip make sure to check out the group sizes, some elements have a maximum number of clients.

Gorgineering
Gorgineering is one of the alternatives derived from Rock Climbing. You hike long lonely approaches through rough wilderness to remote crags with beautiful summits. Scrambling, climbing, rappelling, camping, and rugged hiking are all part of the Adventure Trip. Go in the Off-Season for a really remote feeling!
Camping for one overnight or five? We can offer the trip for your small group. We limit the size of our groups to six for reasons of impact caused by large groups. This offers you a better view of the wild with its abundant wildlife and diversity.

Climbing
Climbing is something we know all about. We have more than 20 years climbing experience in area all over the US, the longest being our own Red River Gorge, KY. We have options for other area we are currnetly developing so stay tuned for more...

Wilderness Survival
We can offer this Element in a couple of doses. Our favorite way to incorporate this Element is to do a day or two of training leading up to one overnighter in a survival situation. This incorporates beatifully into the program because if you choose to, we can spring 'survival mode on you at any time when on a 4+ day trip! We can also offer this as a standalone overnighter.

Sailling
Sailing is done primarily aboard our 27' sloop Unbridled . We are currently looking to expand our program to the LBL area to be on small boats and bay-hop camp up the lake, this will be very exciting when combined with some of our other Elements.

Canoeing
Canoeing is an Element in which we can give you the experience of nature close-up. We offer this trip generally during the summer and fall months but we can go in spring and winter if the group is adequately prepared. We can take you to one of our areas of expertise or something a little different if you would like.
